When do I know if I am going to get a lawyer?
- The decision cannot be made until we have received all the documents requested in the email or letter we sent you.
- LAA has high volumes of individuals applying for a lawyer for family matters, which need to be reviewed by the lawyers on the Assessment Team to determine whether there is merit for the legal issues you want to deal with, and we generally deal with matters in the order they are received. As a result, it can take some time for a final decision to be made.
- Consider mediation while you are waiting.
