Last week, the Ministry of Justice shared its plans for a legal aid consultation involving key justice system partners, including Legal Aid Alberta (LAA).
As we mentioned before, we understand that not everyone is familiar with the complexities of our organization. We have provided the Ministry with detailed materials, an Overview of LAA which we are also sharing with you on our website.
Legal Aid Alberta is committed to helping ensure a long-term, sustainable and independent legal aid that provides access to justice for Albertans. We expect that any decisions on future service delivery will be evidence-based and clearly communicated as soon as possible.
While LAA is not leading this process, we commit to keeping you informed.
