Upon review of the current isolated court locations which were introduced April 1, 2023, and LAA’s commitment to reviewing our processes on a regular basis, we have determined the definition of Isolated Court Locations requires refinement. Therefore, Isolated Court Locations are now defined as those where substantial travel is required due to the remoteness of the location as well as being a location that may not have effective services available.
Pursuant to the amendments to the criminal invoicing tariff guide becoming effective April 1, 2025, the isolated court locations available on certificates issued on or after April 1, 2025, will consist of the following:
- Fort Vermillion
- Chateh
- Fort Chipewyan
- Wabasca-Desmarais
- Red Earth Creek
