April 3, 2023 – On April 1, the newly modernized LAA tariff officially launched. Updates to the Lawyer Portal were completed overnight on March 29, and invoicing under the modernized tariff is now up and functioning.
All certificates issued on or after April 1, 2023 will need to use the modernized tariff. If you have certificates that were issued before April 1, 2023, the old tariff will still apply until conclusion or change of counsel.
Certificate function will also remain the same — there will be no difference in how we offer certificates and how certificates look when issued.

Updated handbooks available
With the newly modernized tariff in place, copies of the Welcome Handbook, Family/Civil Tariff Invoicing Guide (formerly Family Tariff Handbook) and Criminal Tariff Invoicing Guide (formerly Criminal Tariff Handbook) have been updated. All lawyers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the appropriate handbooks.
You can find links to the updated handbooks on our Tariff Modernization webpage as well as our Roster Resources webpage under Support and Resources.
