As we draw closer to Legal Aid Alberta’s new tariff implementation date of April 1, all roster, staff and staff lawyers are invited to register for one of our upcoming online training sessions to learn about the new LAA criminal tariff structure and how to use it.
During these training sessions, you will learn about exciting changes to:
- Block fees for visiting clients in custody
- Block fees for counsel for helping to support clients through specialty court processes like Mental Health Court or Indigenous Court
- Reasonable preparation hours included in the trial block fees
- How block fees also mean more streamlined invoicing through the lawyer portal
- How the new extra hours block works
