Community leaders join Legal Aid Alberta’s Board of Directors to strengthen our commitment to serve Albertans
Legal Aid Alberta proudly welcomes Amber-Dawn Boudreau and Daniela O’Callaghan to its Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors supports LAA’s goal of providing legal services and expertise, providing access to justice and fairness for all Albertans. Direction and decisions of the Board of Directors and the strategic plan are implemented by the Executive Committee to support the legal aid business plan.
Boudreau and O’Callaghan bring fresh perspectives and invaluable experience and contributions to the board. Their appointment reinforces LAA’s continued efforts to uphold fairness, accessibility, and equality within Alberta’s justice system.
Boudreau, a Calgary-based engagement and commercial lending executive, brings a wealth of experience in fostering relationships with Indigenous communities, industry stakeholders and government and promoting inclusivity.
O’Callaghan, an Edmonton-based lawyer and Senior Managing Counsel at EPCOR Utilities Inc., has extensive experience in business advisory and community service, including roles at the Edmonton Combative Sports Commission and the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers.
Boudreau and O’Callaghan’s unique skill sets and dedication to public service will enhance the board’s ability to support the legal needs of Albertans across the province.
As a publicly funded, non-profit organization, LAA provides affordable legal services in family law, domestic violence, child welfare, immigration, and youth and adult criminal defence. LAA is in nine locations: Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Siksika Nation and Wetaskiwin.
