During a recent conversation with some family roster lawyers, the question of the need for merit opinions on supervision orders was raised. The concern was valid, and our executive team took it into account while coming to the following decision:
Effective November 1, 2024, a legal opinion will no longer be required when a client is applying for coverage on a Supervision Order application. Clients who financially qualify for legal aid will now be approved immediately for coverage.
