Legal Aid Alberta is hosting a special webinar on the recent decision from the Supreme Court of Canada upholding An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Children, Youth and Families.
Join Dr. Hadley Friedland and Koren Lightning-Earle from the Wahkohtowin Law and Governance Lodge for a discussion on the SCC decision and its implications for child welfare law in Canada.
They will also provide an overview of the Act and the relevant provisions that should be argued by counsel when representing indigenous families involved in the child welfare system in Alberta.
